On 3-4 September SPHERE (Support and Promotion for Higher Education Reform Experts) organized a study HERE visit to Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) in Finland to facilitate University-Industry collaboration for future employment, innovation and sustainable ecosystems. University-industry collaboration is a top policy priority in higher education systems around the world. Modern universities are recognized as important drivers of local and regional development as they are actively involved in initiatives such as technology transfer, collaborative research, startup incubators and spin-off ventures. These collaborations foster innovation and play a key role in enhancing the employability of graduates. By evolving curricula to meet labor market needs, universities are reshaping teaching and learning process to better preparing students for changing workforce demands. During the study visit, HEREs were familiarized with TAMC various approaches to collaboration with industry. The focus was on several key areas: curriculum development, work-integrated learning, and teaching collaborations. As part of the visit, HEREs visited three TAMC’s laboratories to learn how teaching laboratories and applied research centers work, and how these support the development of the university. The event was attended by Turkmen HERE Shohrat Byashimov, a teacher from the Turkmen State Institute of Finance. |
